Apple is taking hotel entertainment to the next level with its latest rollout of AirPlay capabilities in hotel rooms. Starting today, guests staying in select IHG hotels can now stream their favorite shows, movies, music, and more directly from their Apple devices to their room's TV.
This exciting development was first announced at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference in 2023, where the tech giant revealed that LG TVs in hotels would soon support AirPlay. The feature allows travelers to use their iPhones or iPads to easily cast content to a larger screen, enhancing their in-room entertainment experience by allowing them to view photos, play games, and enjoy their personal media just like they would at home. With Apple AirPlay Available in Hotel TVs, guests can now enjoy a more personalized and convenient stay.

Despite an initial promise to launch the feature by the end of 2023, Apple delayed the introduction until this year. Finally, with the release of iOS 17.3, AirPlay has made its appearance in the hospitality industry.
For now, this feature is available exclusively in more than 60 IHG properties across the US, Canada, and Mexico. This includes hotels under the Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites, and Avid Hotels brands. Apple has indicated that it plans to expand this feature to more locations in the upcoming months.
